Astigmatism

Written on 10:32 PM by Emperor Optics Sembawang

An eye with Astigmatism usually produces 2 focusing point at different distances. This can be a result of a non-spherical optical medium such as an irregular cornea surface. Correction of this refractive error is most commonly done with spectacles or contact lenses. Uncorrected astig will produce fuzzy images, due the eye inability to focus on fine details.

Hyperopia is a condition of the eye where one experience difficulty in focusing objects at near. The nearer an object is to the eye of a hyperope, the blurrer the object will become. Causes of hyperopia may be too short an eyeball or lens of the eye are not round enough.

A very high degree of long sightedness will have difficulty in focusing objects at all distances. Most common correction form will be spectacles or contact lenses. Hyperopia is not to be mistaken with presbyopia although both condition will produce blur imsages of objects at near.
